Matt has been taking out Paul Fitzjames for a series of months now.
He has been training him up for a "Part 2 driving test". This test is to enable Paul to get a step closer to fully qualifying to become a driving instructor.
With the day coming ever closer the training intensified and Paul had more and more driving lessons with Matt.
The driving lessons were set to a much higher standard than a learner driving test. A Part 2 driving test lasts a full hour and consists of doing a variety of driving which can include country lane driving, motorway driving and city centre driving. Ministers are considering doubling the number of penalty points drivers are given when they are caught speaking on their mobile phone.
There are plans to change the current 3 point sanction to six points. The move was recommended by Sir Bernard Hogan-Howe, the commissioner of the Metropolitan police force after the first increase in deaths and injuries from dangerous driving on the Capital's streets in more than a decade.
It would mean anyone caught twice in three years would face a ban. Driving whilst holding a mobile phone has been illegal since 2003. We would like to wish Tom Kindell the fire dancer from Montpelier in Bristol all the best after passing his driving test today with only 6 minor driving faults!
Tom is currently training hard to become a full fledged tree surgeon, we reckon he will be climbing high now that he has a full driving license under his belt. There will be no stopping you helping all those poor old trees in need of help now that you have your wheels.
